Jenn McArthur, PhD, P.Eng, PMP, CEM, LEED GA
Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Built Environment (PMBE) Dept. Architectural Science @TMU
Dr. Jenn McArthur is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in Management (University of Edinburgh) and MASc and BASc in Mechanical Engineering (both University of Waterloo). Jenn also serves as Associate Chair for the Graduate Program in Project Management in the Built Environment. Jenn' research program centers on the development of Smart & Sustainable Building Solutions including Smart and Continuous Commissioning applications, Cognitive Digital Twins for Smart Buildings, and supporting industry adoption of Smart technologies. Her other research focuses on building performance improvement through Smart and Ongoing Commissioning (SOCx), Smart Campus Integration, FM-enabled BIM, and workplace design to improve productivity and health.
Prior to joining TMU in 2014, Jenn served as the Engineer of Record or Lead Mechanical Engineer for $750M of projects including the Pan Am Games Stadia, Billy Bishop Airport expansion, Vaughan Metropolitan and York University Subway Stations, and the Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence. She has also led development projects in Asia and Africa.
Mouwafak Ayoub, P.Eng, CEM, PMP, LEED AP, MBA
Sr. Manager - Energy and Sustainability @ CIBC
With over 20 years of experience in energy and sustainability, Mr. Ayoub has developed deep expertise in areas such as smart buildings, net-zero initiatives, renewable energy, and energy optimization. He has a proven track record of successfully leading design and project management for energy-efficient solutions, including BAS, HVAC and IoT integration.
As a highly accomplished Energy and Sustainability Manager, he has overseen and implemented impactful energy efficiency programs and innovative upgrades at one of Canada’s largest banks, CIBC, since 2018. He manages the energy portfolio for over 1,000 branches and offices across Canada and the USA, Notably, he played a key role in certifying the CIBC Square South Tower (2023) with a prestigious Platinum LEED rating.
He currently serves as the President of the Association of Energy Engineers GTA chapter and Chair of the Energy, Environment, and Transportation Committee at the Professional Engineers Ontario Mississauga Chapter.
He is the recipient of two prestigious awards, the AEE Regional Award for Energy
Manager of the Year in Canada (2024) and the AEEGTA Energy Manager of the Year
Award (2022).
Helen OReilly, P.Eng, CEM
Associate, Commissioning @ HIDI
Helen O’Reilly is a Commissioning Associate at The HIDI Group. A McGill University graduate with almost 15 years of experience in the commissioning field, Helen is an expert on improving existing building performance and reducing energy consumption. Helen leverages both her creative and analytical skillset, as well as her comprehensive industry experience, to do impactful work in energy auditing, decarbonization projects, net zero commissioning and existing building commissioning. Working across a broad range of sectors, including Commercial, Institutional, and Hospitality, Helen has a long history of making some of Canada’s most recognized buildings, corporations, and institutions more functional and sustainable.

Chris Lee, P.Eng
Head Of Decarbonization @ Adaptis
Chris is Head of Decarbonization at Adaptis, a Professional Engineer and ASHRAE member with experience in building design, performance optimization, electrification, existing building retrofits, and managing portfolio and campus GHG emission reductions. His background includes consulting engineering and ownership experience with industry leaders Smith + Andersen, Footprint and Minto Group prior to his current role.
