Event Summary

Facility owners implement new HVAC&R technologies to resolve operating cost pressures and to decarbonize. However, many projects do not perform to facility owners’ expectations. Reasons typically cited are questionable design practices, improper construction workmanship, and lax project management. But what is the role of owner operations in achieving project benefits?

This presentation shares the experience of Canada’s second largest school board, operating a 270 facility 20.5 million ft2 portfolio, in obtaining annual utilities performance of $ 1.05 / ft2 and 1.88 kg CO2/ft2; overall savings of $ 33 million and 135,000 metric tonnes of CO2e.
