EVENT SUMMARY
In this presentation, our speaker, Joël Primeau, will deliver a comprehensive, high level exploration of psychrometrics and its renewed importance in modern HVAC design. He will examine how today’s realities, such as increased densification of occupied spaces, reduced sensible loads, and heightened health risks associated with poor humidity control, are reshaping the way HVAC systems must be analyzed and designed. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of why traditional rules of thumb, even those used as recently as a decade ago, are no longer sufficient in today’s built environment.
Joël will also highlight the critical role psychrometrics plays at the center of HVAC system selection, design, and implementation. Through a discussion of innovative low energy solutions and evolving occupant and load characteristics, he will emphasize the need for rigorous analysis of spaces, systems, and occupants. This presentation reinforces psychrometrics as a foundational skill essential to successfully delivering high performance HVAC systems in today’s demanding conditions.
